DS Group Joins Hands with Ben’s Cookies to Launch Premium British Cookie Experience in India

by Food Drinks Innovation

Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group), a leading FMCG conglomerate and multi-business corporation, has announced an exclusive partnership with Ben’s Cookies, the iconic British artisanal cookie brand renowned for its freshly baked gourmet treats. Founded in 1983 at Oxford’s historic Covered Market, Ben’s Cookies has built a loyal global customer base with its signature chunky and gooey cookies crafted using simple, high-quality ingredients. Through this collaboration, the brand is set to make its debut in India with a bakery-first retail concept focused on freshness and authentic baking experiences.

Ben’s Cookies will introduce a wide range of its globally popular flavours in the Indian market, including Milk Chocolate Chunk, White Chocolate & Macadamia, Ginger & Dark Chocolate, along with specially curated eggless variants for Indian consumers. The brand will also offer premium gifting options designed for festive celebrations and corporate occasions. Individual cookies will start from ₹325, while curated gift boxes and assortments will be priced upwards of ₹1500.

Speaking about the collaboration, Sanskriti Gupta, Ben’s Cookies India, said that the partnership marks an important milestone in DS Group’s expansion into the premium food retail segment. She highlighted that the brand combines over four decades of British artisanal baking heritage with DS Group’s understanding of Indian consumer preferences. She further revealed that the company plans to open eight to ten physical stores across India during the current financial year as part of its aggressive retail expansion strategy.

To strengthen accessibility and consumer convenience, Ben’s Cookies products will also be available through major e-commerce and food delivery platforms. Each boutique will feature live-oven baking to ensure fresh batches are prepared throughout the day. In addition to cookies, the stores will offer an indulgent menu including cookie shakes, coffees, and cookie ice cream sandwiches.

Luke Menezes from Ben’s Cookies expressed enthusiasm about entering the Indian market through the partnership with DS Group. He stated that the company aims to maintain its traditional quality standards in India while becoming a cherished part of the country’s evolving dessert culture.

The partnership comes at a time when India’s premium cookie and dessert segment is witnessing rapid growth, driven by increasing urban affluence and consumer demand for authentic, handcrafted indulgences. India’s cookie market, valued at USD 1.3 billion in 2024, is projected to reach USD 2.3 billion by 2033, creating strong opportunities for premium international brands in the country.
