Tata Starbucks unveiled its exclusive Whiskey Barrel-Aged Guatemala Cold Brew, a limited-edition blend that honors the fusion of top-tier coffee craftsmanship with the storied heritage of a renowned Kentucky distillery, available solely at its reserve store in Mumbai.
The barrel-aged coffee, uses an extraordinary lot of Guatemalan green coffee beans, tended carefully throughout the aging process in Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey barrels. The beans are hand-rotated frequently to ensure that all the coffee meets the oak barrel and absorbs the sweetness and oak from the barrels, creating an elegant and smooth beverage. After the beans have reached peak flavour, they are removed from the barrels and roasted by Starbucks master roasters. The intense heat of the roasting process burns off any lingering alcohol, but the aroma and flavour of the whiskey and the barrel carry through to the flavour of the roasted coffee. This process then creates a cup that is even greater than the sum of its parts, with mellow sweetness, notes of chocolate, hints of stone fruit and an aura of rich oak.
