Subway Canada has partnered with Lay’s to launch a new limited-edition snack inspired by one of its most popular menu items. The new Lay’s Italian Herbs & Cheese flavoured potato chips bring the signature taste of Subway’s iconic Italian Herbs & Cheese bread to a crispy snack format and are available exclusively at participating Subway restaurants across Canada for a limited time.
Developed in collaboration with PepsiCo Canada, the chips capture the distinctive cheesy, savoury and herb-infused flavour profile that has made Italian Herbs & Cheese bread a long-time customer favourite. The launch aims to offer consumers a new way to enjoy the well-known Subway flavour beyond sandwiches, catering to growing demand for innovative and limited-time snack experiences.
“Our Italian Herbs & Cheese bread has inspired a passionate fan base for decades, and we’re thrilled to bring that signature flavour to guests in an entirely new format,” said Chef John Botelho, Culinary Manager at Subway Canada. He noted that the collaboration transforms a classic Subway offering into a convenient snack that can be enjoyed anytime.
Kelsie Milbury, R&D Director at PepsiCo Canada, said the partnership was a natural fit, combining the popularity of Lay’s chips with one of Subway’s most recognizable flavours. The new chips blend the familiar taste of the restaurant’s freshly baked bread with the crunch of potato chips, creating a unique snacking experience for consumers.
The limited-time product is now available at participating Subway locations across Canada while supplies last. The launch further highlights the growing trend of foodservice and snack brands collaborating to bring familiar restaurant flavours into new product categories.
